I didn’t expect a simple browser game to make me yell at my screen. But that’s exactly what happened the first time I played agario.

It started innocently enough. I was browsing online, taking a short break, when I stumbled across the game. No download, no account, just a big play button and a colorful map full of moving circles.

I thought, “Okay, let’s try this for a minute.”

That “minute” quickly turned into a full gaming session filled with excitement, panic, laughter, and a few dramatic defeats. If you’ve ever played this game, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.

The strange thing about agario is that it looks incredibly simple. But once you start playing, you realize there’s a lot more happening beneath the surface.
